after spending a few hours at my new laptop I found out I had the same problem with the Cpu -> 80% in idle mode
so I've tried to fix the problem and after a few tests I figured it out.
I'm running Xp sp2 so I don't know if the fix is working also on vista! just try it, and reply in my thread if it works.
I've attached an image of what u have to do.

just disable those in the "Universal Serial Bus controllers" Category and u should be fine
    for me it worked
    :)

Just a question, why are you still using XP SP1?

If you bought the laptop recently and it came with XP, chances are that it has SP2 or SP3. You can verify this by right-clicking on My Computer > Properties.

But what about USB? Do they all work!? Do we get any non-working device if we disable these things!?

The USB on left side won't work when we disable this...

I don't have that problem in XP SP2. Everything works except for IrDA.
