after spending a few hours at my new laptop I found out I had the same problem with the Cpu -> 80% in idle mode
so I've tried to fix the problem and after a few tests I figured it out.
I'm running Xp sp2 so I don't know if the fix is working also on vista! just try it, and reply in my thread if it works.
I've attached an image of what u have to do.

just disable those in the "Universal Serial Bus controllers" Category and u should be fine

Just a question, why are you still using XP SP1?
-
SP3 is here, and it's free. All the cool kids are getting it; don't be left out.
-
If you bought the laptop recently and it came with XP, chances are that it has SP2 or SP3. You can verify this by right-clicking on My Computer > Properties.
-
But what about USB? Do they all work!? Do we get any non-working device if we disable these things!?
-
The USB on left side won't work when we disable this...
-
all of my usb are working correctly
the laptop came with Vista home edition 64bit
i didn't like vista, so that's why i've installed xp sp2
sorry for my 1'st post, I was wrong about the version; I'm running XP SP2 -

I don't have that problem in XP SP2. Everything works except for IrDA.
