So i just did the Dox driver, and my temps went up a little bit... what is the max temp the gpu and cpu should be at? After doing the 3DMark06 my gpu was at 89C and my cpu was 135F or 52C if that makes it easier...

    Thanks
    Kris

The max temperature for your CPU is 95*C. The max temperature for your GPU is 90*C. Try not to exceed 85*C on the CPU and GPU, though the best goal should be to stay under 80*C.

Not that I know of. Dox's latest release of the 185.85 driver seems to be a bit hotter, but yields a little bit more performance in games compared to the Dox 182.05 you have right now.

Try 186.34 or 190.38. Both have been very good to me.

Remove the driver and run a pass through Driver Sweeper. Graphics drivers must always be properly removed and installed clean.

I believe a new revamped version of Driver Sweeper was just released. You should check it out. http://www.phyxion.net/

I don't know. I don't use PhysX. Only applications that utilize PhysX will be able to use it.

You can use PhysX in benchmarks, but many of us consider it as cheating as it will boost your overall score, specifically in the CPU tests.

I am getting the feeling that you want to switch drivers for a better benchmark score. If so, the 179 drivers will give you the best numbers. The 182 and up drivers are geared for "real" benchmarking, also known as games.

I can't notice the difference between 4x AA and 8x AA in games. It's best to save some performance and keep it at 4x. Source games, on both the old and revised engine, are fairly easy to run at max settings with 4x AA and 16x AF. Your 9800M GS should be able to push them all easily at 1280x800.

Ya no problems at all with Source based games...
