Hi I have an s96j with a t2300 and today the machine just died and won't start and after a opening up I don't know how but it turned on but when it did it displayed some kind of bios message that I can not remember. When I exited the bios it booted windows but I found that i couldn't get my cpu to go over 1ghz. So now I'm wondering if theres any kind of fix or do I need to buy a new cpu.

Have you tried checking the CPU frequency and multiplier settings in the BIOS to fix the speed issue?

Perhaps it defaulted to safe settings because of hardware instability for some reason.

It's hard to say exactly whats wrong if you don't have the message or can't duplicate the problem.
