i just found a super good deal for M5N on ebay, and the seller seemed to be very reliable too!

i know the W5N is already out in Taiwan, but obviously people do not think it's that good, so as a rational buyer, i think i would still stick to M5N

however, my concern is about tech support, as asus is not a big company in US... (i know that asus is the best company in taiwan and most of asia, but in US, it seems like they are still growing.... i heard that in JP, Epson and Sharp are both using the M5N as OEM)

Well.. can't imagine you're getting that great of a deal....... but either way, Asus isn't going to be helping you on the warranty. All warranty issues in the US, dealing with an M5 is taken care of through the company you bought it from. Since warranties aren't transferable, you're going to be looking at they guy on ebay for help.... or another words, you'll be out of luck.

Those companies doesn't use Asus as an OEM, they purchase the rights to certain models in certain areas...... JVC, Epson both purchase models from Asus as we do and with that sign an exclusivity agreement for a certain model in that area. Sharps systems aren't just copies of Asus' own models, but Asus does design and make the entire Sharp notebook line seperately.. the MR model is the only one that is basically a straight carry over from the Asus line... However you will notice that it uses an S5 touchpad, instead of the M5 touchpad..... Most S5 owners have been asking me if we will sell them the M5 touchpads because they are much sexier. It's interesting to see sharp choosing to go with option. --- just as Asus makes notebooks for apple and sony.

Interestingly enough... For those of us who own an epson printer in the US, are familiar with the EPSON blue.... the color in their logo. Well, they basically have every Asus model, but in that god awful navy blue with I think a silver logo. In my option, way too much blue.... they should have opted for silver (like their printers) with that blue logo we've familiar with. Than again, thats only sold in Japan.

    Thanks,
    Justin

Yeah,at first I thought it was an S5 as well, until I saw the optical drive...
an M5 with an S5 touchpad... quite odd.
