I have been using this laptop for almost 6months. Whenever, i open the LCD for a certain time, lets say 2 hours, when i want to turn the screen down, theres a *pop* sound or something, its something like popping your knuckles, however, if i turn it every 5 mins, the sound is not really significant. Does anyone using the v1jp experience this? I heard the hinge is not really a superb material and i am sure i didnt abuse it in anyway.

So this pop sound occurs within the hinge you say? I personaly, don't have that problem with the V1JP. Call Asus get an RMA number, also get them to pay for shipping and etc, they will fix it. State exactly what's going on, and this pop sound. Good Luck

Well here in North America, the service is excellent. Sometimes turn around time can be like less than a week, but sometimes more, but on average a week. Depending on the issue at hand.

Yes you should send it to them. If you feel that it bothers you too much or feel uncomfortable with it.
