I forgot to take a screencap before I had to take my laptop back to BB (not a problem caused by overclocking).

I don't have the proof, but my idle temps dropped from 60C to 55C. How about them ap-ples.

Well....idle temps must be taken under exactly the same situation to be compared.

I suspect that the drop is more due to the first being taken after the computer was running for a while and the second soon after a relatively cold boot.

The DOX temperature test was, indeed, after a restart.

But the computer itself had been on for a few hours; I only restarted because I had just installed DOX.

Different VGA drivers will affect the GPU differently in terms of temperature, performance and even the ability to overclock or not. In your case, I would test to see if your graphics performance is jeopardized by you decrease in temp to see if it's worthwhile to continue using that particular driver.
