How can I test my DVD drive to see if it's working propertly? It will play music CDs, but not DVDs or other CDs. I don't know if it's a hardware problem, or a software problem.

    1. I have such issues with my M6Ne. They appear randomly and go away after a while.
    2. Vista UAC is known to interfere with the ODD on some laptop models. Try disabling it.
    3. Try playing the stuff from a live Linux installation on a USB key. (google is your friend, see also the guide in my signature) If it works, it's software (Windows drivers or apps)
    4. Try a firmware update on the ODD.
