Well I finally got annoyed with the grinding sound that my DVd/RW drive was making while buring CD's and only burning CDs. Which casused my cd's to take about three times longer to burn.

anyone else faced this problem? It didnt even change after i formatted so its not a driver fault..

I emailed asus support and got a reply that I might need some help with.

The reply to my question went as follows : "try turning off the cd options in the dvd options".

Well I might not be a IT techi but I'm obviously not qualified to understand what he means. but it did make me laugh...

So its been sent to be fixed. It was a Samsung & Toshiba drive..
