what does it mean?
thanks all...

super multi most likely means in handles all formats of DVDs....lightscribe is the drawing of an image on the back of a dvd....on one side ...you put your data...on the other side...you can put a title or some type of art.....its visible to the eye.....a waste of money if you ask me when a sharpie does the same thing....but if aesthetics of your dvd collection are important...thats the way to do it.

Super Multi means it handles basically all CD and DVD formats... really, Super Multi is a step above what was common last year, which was Dual-Layer and Double-Layer.... Both called "DVD DL" .. Well, there was obviously a lot of confusion with those, so Super Multi sort of means it does everything but HD DVD and BluRay.
As for lightscribe, it was said above, but basically it's laser that will inscribe the top of your disc.... it could be cool, but yeah a sharpie does the job well also. It certainly would be cool to make a mix cd on the subway and give it to someone in a few minutes all professional looking... so that has it's advantages. It's not life changing or anything though. -
thanks

super multi drives are the ****, especially ones with lightscribe. Plus it does much more than a..sharpy. You can do basic color images as well as create your own designs via the lightscribe program. Particularly fun if you ask me.

Lightscribe doesn't do color. There are tinted disks, though.

They also rip you off on blank lightscribe disks.

Super Multi usually denotes support for DVD-RAM. Once the disc is formatted, files can be dragged onto the disc within Windows Explorer. Since it has better error correction, it is a good choice for backups.
DVD Super Multi with " Lightscribe "?
