    I bought a monitor and tried to connect it with the A8jm (Nvidia 7600 Go), VGA output worked but not DVI, any idea? I have the latest graphic card driver. My laptop can detect a monitor is attached, but when I extend to the monitor, it won't show and the resolution setting is fixed.

    My monitor shows "check signal cable" and not outputing anything from the laptop.

    I did not use digital video outputs up until now (yeah, I know, I'm still in the Stone Age of VGA), but I would try:

    * Reboot with the monitor plugged in. If you don't see an image at POST then something deeper than software is at fault here.

    * Fn+F7 to switch between internal and external. If the port is working and the problem is only with the desktop extension, you should get an image.

    * Different video driver (stock?)
