that's standard for any company.. Just hope it doesn't get worse, or then you could send it back.

Google for dead/stuck pixels fixers. Maybe you can fix it.

There is software that by altering colors on the screen in a certain sequence over a long period of time, can fix certain instances of stuck pixels.

Also there are "screen massage" techniques that might help.

This is all assuming that the defect in the pixel(s) is not irreversible. But many times it isn't.

Well if its right smack in the middle of the screen, then i'll prolly be pissed. But still any pixels piss me off.

tell them you got 5 pixels then send it back and say "i guess 2 dissapeared". If they swapped your screen the new screen should not be worse then your old one. that is just messed up

Hmm FYI, they didnt change my lcd screen, they just fixed my hinge. I now have 1 dot at the bottom of my lcd and its irritating me. Even if the screen isnt fully white, i still can see it. Anyway to make stuck pixels so that i can rma the lcd as well?

Use a needle :D Just kidding, don't do that! :)

Why not try fixing it yourself first, using my suggestions? Saves the hassle of RMA and arguing with the support people.

So was your battery issue resolved successfully?

I also have found a dead pixel on the left side of my screen that must of developed today. I'll be ringing Asus soon, but I REALLY don't want to be left without a laptop for a possible 2 or more weeks.

Was your problem pertaining to the modular + main battery, or just your main battery was malfunctioning?

If I sent my notebook in for repair, and it came back with an issue that did not exist prior to sending, you better bet I would be on their case big time until they made it right!

Call them and email them until they repair/replace the screen they have obviously damaged while repairing the hinge. Don't just let it go.

It is if they caused it! But it's up to you if it's worth fighting for or not, I know I would.

I agree, the lcd was totally unrelated to the warranty repair, I'd definitely make some calls.

a dead pixel cannot be fixed!

a bright pixel(stuck on green, red or blue) can sometimes be unstuck though by use of those flashing videos.

once a pixel is (dead) its off and will remain off.

Insane is correct. I would add only that a bright pixel (stuck on red, green, or blue) can also sometimes be unstuck though gentle massage, and that a dead pixel always appears black.

If those grease monkeys killed one of my poor, innocent, defenseless little pixels, there's no way I'd let them get away with it, thats murder! :D

I had the exact same problem occur to me. Maybe a month after using, my screen developed two pockets of stuck/dead pixels and I RMAed it. Asus took it back and sent me back a unit that had a couple of still stuck/dead pixels even though they replaced the screen... You think they could have just started it up and taken a good look at it before sending it back out! Anyway, I miss my original screen, since I remember it being much more clearer than this current one which is now stuck/dead pixel free after going to the shop twice.

Well if they replaced it with the same type (and they should've) then it should be as clear as the original...

Well I didn't check what manufacturer made the original one, but I'm not the first to say the newer screens aren't as clear. However, its fine in the long run and you only notice it if you look REALLY closely.

Well maybe it's variation between various units of the same type, then.

Had a stuck pixel the other week. Some light massaging later and it's all good. But if your's is still dead or stuck, I would raise a stink too. The squeaky wheel gets the grease. Unless it's not worth the hassle to you that is.
