I've owned an F3SV-B1 for about 3 months now, and I love it. My only problem, is that recently, I noticed a little group of dead or dim pixels in the lower right corner that fall on the taskbar. Since it's on the taskbar, it's not a huge deal, but now that I know they're there, I can't stop noticing them. I know Asus has a 30 day "no bright dot" policy, but has anyone had any experience with them fixing/replacing screens for computers that have a grouping of dead pixels after that 30 day period?

after that it goes with your warranty. You need to have at least X number of dead pixels of each kind, this is a universal number so just make a google search
-
Or try the dead pixel fixers on the internet, they might work.

Well...my experience was, that I had 1 dead and one stuck pixel on my G1S. Unfortunately, I wasn't covered from the warranty, since there were more than 2 stuck pixels (in a small area) necessary for a free exchange. I contacted Asus in Germany and they said, that if not covered by the warranty, it would cost me € 400-500 (ca. $ 555-700)! Still, they would sent for the notebook to be picked up from my place, which sounded pretty comfortable. Of course, I can't spend that much just for 1 stuck and 1 dead pixel, although there are shops where one can purchase a new LCD for even less than €250.
Your case now must be covered, since you say that there are quite a few of them. Asus specifically said, that if there are (and I quote from the website):
a) over 3 bright dots or 6 dark dots or 8 mixed bright and dark dots in total; or
b) 2 adjacent bright dots or 2 adjacent dark dots; or
c) 3 bright and/or dark dots within an area 15 mm in diameter
then it is covered by the warranty no matter what. There were certain models that had the zero-dot policy (unfortunately my G1S wasn't one of them), but now someone posted here that there is a new policy starting with September 2007 covering all models (...and having bought my machine in July, I do feel pretty stupid somehow)... I hope you are covered by the third case, because I can very well understand how annoying it is to stare at one stuck pixel.
Hope that helped... -
I just saw a white stuck pixel on my G1S yesterday. Bought this laptop exactly 30 days ago lol

That java thing might help you. It didn't for me. Also try the screen massage technique (didn't work for me either). -
I did a little research about how to solve my pixel problem, since, for my case at least, apart from the 2 "initial" pixels, I got another hot one, and am STILL not covered by Asus (so, for Asus, it is apparently ok to have one dead and two constantly lit red dots on the screen
). The service center in Germany said (again), that the new screen, along with replacement costs i guess, will cost € 500. I searched and found a company called ScreenTek, where they provide Notebook LCD-Screens of every size for almost every laptop. Mine costs $ 361 (~ € 256), which admittedly is a way better price (I will have to switch the screen myself, though). I know that this may seem like an advertisement, but I though that anyone in need of an LCD exchange will definitely benefit from this, especially if they are repeatedly turned down by the Support Department.
By the way, any German owners of G1S could probably upgrade their machines to the 1680x1050 resolution. For some unknown reason, Asus only sells G1S laptops with 1440x900 resolution in Germany...
