    Hi All.

I'd like to get a G1S/G2S, but I'm not a fan of ANY dead pixels (dark or bright) and would like to find a dealer that has a liberal return policy in this respect (e.g. 15-30 day return / exchange for ANY reason). Is there such a place? A brick-n-mortar store would be fine, if they carried the G1S (or G2S).

    Thanks,

    - Frank

Unfortunately, the zero dead policy is through ASUS, so if you find a dead pixel, it'll have to be through ASUS, though the turnaround shouldn't be more then a week.

From what i hear Asus is really good with these things. I think you get free overnight shipping to Asus and back to you. Like Coriolis said turnaround shouldn't be more than a week unless your outside the US than you might be out of luck and might have to wait a lil longer.

dont you have stores in the US that have a "change of mind return policy"? Place i work for in NZ allows it for ANY reason 14 days...

I'm sure if you look around at the stores policies (hidden at the bottom of their web sites normally)

Some places don't accept it to be returned unless it has a defect.Sometimes they only replace the defective unit or give you credits. But some other places have a 3/7/10-days or more satisfaction warranty.

THeir warranty only covers "bright" pixels. This basically means pixels lit up and stuck on one colour. It doesn't cover actual dead pixels, which is strange, because other TFT warranties approach this the other way around.

They guarantee zero BRIGHT pixels within the first 30 days of purchase. However, there is also still the normal pixel warranty (3 completely dark pixels OR 8 dead subpixels OR a cluster of defective pixels).

As far as returns, it's mostly a courtesy and good customer relations for the store to take it back. Otherwise, most of the time there is no law stating they have to take it back unless it is defective (according to the manufacturer's guidelines) within the minimum period (typically 15-30 days).

I'm going to be sending in my G1p this Monday if all goes according to plan to get the screen replaced.

No dead pixels but there are 3 prominent white spots on the screen.

I guess Asus warranty will be put to the test. I also asked if they can fix a small dent on my casing but I doubt they will do anything for that.
