    Hello everyone,

I posted a thread in the what computer should I get section, here. At the end, dtwn recommended I stop by here.

I'm deciding between the MSI EX625 and the ASUS X83Vm-X2.

So, you don't have to go back and read my FAQ, I'll be using it for watching DVDs, streaming video, writing papers, listening to music, and playing some games, such as WoW and Portal, but probably nothing cutting edge.

I'm looking to minimize weight and maximize battery life.

I'm hopefully going to decide today, so any thoughts would be helpful!

Here is a review for an earlier version of the X83: http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=309113 . Will give you some idea of the build and looks.

If you are looking for good battery life, I am not sure you should get an ASUS. Even though they have been getting slightly better in the past year or so, they still have sub-par battery life in comparison to many other brands. Except some EEE models, that is. :)

I am not sure what GPU the X83Vm has, so I don't know if it'll handle the games you mention -- but for the rest of the tasks, it should do just fine -- every mainstream computer will do those tasks easily nowadays.

I actually steered a good friend of mine into a X83Vm-X2. I has a 9600m gs so WOW and portal are pretty playable.

Not to start any flame wars or anything but the ATI 4670 GPU found in the MSI EX625 is much better/powerful than the the 9600 M GS found in the ASUS X83Vm-X2.
The MSI's bootleneck is the CPU and not the GPU.
For gaming the MSI is a better machine and a great deal also

No one really argued for the ASUS, so the MSI it is! Thanks for the help.
