ALSO, another question is that if I buy it from here, since I'm visiting Canada.. I live in the middle east, and I for example break it or theres something up with it, how would the warranty work, because I'm not familiar with any Asus shops, or will the warranty work? I'm worried >_<.

Why does it cost more to configure it with XP Pro? is it very difficult to do?

Vista is the new standard, manufacturers now install vista. XP has to be installed by the seller, so they charge for it.

But is it hard to do if you do it yourself? 150 seems a bit much....

Asus warranty is international, so wherever the nearest Asus service center is, you'll be sending it there for repairs.

Like what above said, ASUS's warranty is global. You can call technical support 24/7, and send your notebook to local service center for repair (if necessary).

I'd have to agree with the M50. I feel it's built better than the F8 series.

I agree but the F8SN is built pretty well too. I went with the F8SN-C1 due to the size and weight difference.

Sorry to thread hijack but I figured my question might not be worthy of a new one.

Can anyone help me decide on a lappy, I have it down to this
g1 and this m50. I know that the m50 has the nicer chip and is obviously $100 cheaper, but how do the cards stack up, it's really a tough decision for me! =[

edit: also, those probably come with 32 instead of 64 bit vista right?

Also, when I want to like just browse the internet and keep it in my lap, will that be a concern, and about how many hours of battery life, and one last question how hot does the m50 get?

The m50 is a very cool laptop. I can have it on my lap for hours, and not be a concern. (Even with the cpu and gpu overclocked) If you get the 9 cell for the m50, I get around 3 hours 15 minutes during normal use.

The M50 is extremely cool, I'm listening to music and surfing the web and it barely gets warm. The only place where its really noticeable is near the exhaust vent on the left hand corer.

As far as I know, you can only get the m50 from online retailers, and should be around $1300 for the a1 model.

Well, a worthy alternative to the Asus M50 is the Dell XPS m1530.
Just curious what turned you off with the M50?
