Every time I reboot my computer, my sound and monitor selections reset their default settings. I usually use my laptop at home, where I manually connect to my desktop monitor. I've not had problems with either until updating Windows Vista last week, but it doesn't seem to be a service pack I can uninstall.

The problem occurs when I switch between my Logitech headset and regular sound and when attempting to view the screen on the desktop monitor. I have to manually switch sound devices in the control panel and do the same for the monitor. However, now the laptop recognizes my external monitor as monitor 1 and the built-in monitor as monitor 2. This wouldn't be a problem, but it is listing the same device in both selections and is backwards from before. Not sure if this makes sense, but if not, I can clarify. Thanks!
