A while back, Dell's 3008 30" monitor was on sale for about $1000 with my educational discount. But the ASUS z70va would not support it and I was not ready to buy a new laptop. I wanted to wait until Win 7 was out and about for a few months.

Now Dell's 2709 27" monitor is on sale for about $550 bucks with my education discount including tax.

But I can't tell from either the specs or the reviews if my ASUS z70va will support it.

    Can anyone help?

I don't see why the Z70Va would cause any issues with the Dell 2709 monitor. The x700 GPU in your Z70Va is fully capable of outputting a 1920x1200 resolution and all you should need is a VGA cable to connect your notebook to your the monitor.

Thanks for the info. I forgot about my query ... I hope the sale is still on.
