I had to order a laptop real quick due to my previous laptop being stolen and I knew I wanted a large screen and high resolution. And thanks to this site I was able to get a lot of information on tons of laptops and I spent a couple of days browsing before settling on the Asus G2S-A1.

But now I have read about the Clevo M570RU and it even has the fingerprint reader I wish the G2S-A1 had. But I am out of time and I can't just reject the package coming in the mail tomorrow. I have a ton of work to catch up on and I can't afford to wait for the Clevo... can anyone confirm if the LCD on the Asus out does Sager/Clevo? To me just that would make it worth it? Do they have theirs double back lit or whatever it is called?

Power-wise, the Clevo is at the top of all brands in that size category.

As for the LCD, the G2p is known for an amazing LCD(I believe Anand did a review on notebook LCD and it was 1st place), I would assume the G2s will be the same.

For my web design and coding I know it won't matter either way, but I am very big in photoshop and illustrator and doing a lot of multimedia intensive work.

I rarely play PC games these days but I still like to know that if I ever do see a PC game that blows me away and I feel like I just have to play it I can. I am a much bigger console fan though lol.

I also like the fact that the Clevo doesn't scream Gamer!!

Thanks for mentioning that review I'll check it out.

I've read great things about the G2s LCD having 2 backlights making it extremely bright and vibrant (I can't locate those posts atm).

Then again, you will know tomorrow when you actually see the screen for yourself and realize how good (or not good) it is for you.

    I found this quote

"So instead I stumbled onto the Sager (Clevo) 5720. The build was fantastic, though I think the LCD isnt as good as many other brands out there. The cost of this after shipping was 2200$ and it included a GF7800 too. "

Also I imagine the Asus has a much better warranty on its LCDs than Clevo or am I wrong?

hmm... so Voodoofreak it is interesting that you had a Sager returned it and placed an order for an Asus, but why?

Also can you personally comment on whether you can tell a difference between LCDs when you get it in?

Will do. I receive it tomorrow and will post some opinions on the differences.

Sager 2090 is a great machine with the best Matte LCD I've seen. The display is crisp and extremely bright (not to mention, no reflections). My room is very well lit with two huge windows. I stopped using my 20" LCD monitor and started using the laptop display because of that.

Only reason I returned it is because I felt Sager might not perform so well in its 3rd year due to its slower GPU.

Also left kind of a bad taste when I was forced to play my games in tuned down resolution with tuned down settings(maybe I should've gotten the 1280x800 screen). I would still recommend that machine to anyone in a hearbeat who is looking for a great budgeted gaming machine.
