I have a problem with my W7J now. It seems like that screen brightness is reset back to highest on reboot and when I plug/unplug my laptop. I do not want that behaviour and it did not happen before.
I installed bios version 303 and uninstalled asus splendid. That's all I did. Hope someone can reproduce this!

Ok, lets run some quick tests and examples.
If you are using P4G to manage your system; when you plug in the AC adapter, your screen should turn to max brightness and to high or super performance.
If you take out the AC adapter and run on battery, P4G would be set to Max Battery with a brightness of 15% or Queit Office at 65% brightness.
Check that, if that happens for your W7J then you know everything so far is working fine.
Note: You are able to control both of these manually, by setting P4G to the desired mode you want for battery operations or AC use.
Now, plug in the AC adapter, put the brightness at 50%, close the Lid and it will go into hibernation. Wait 5-10 seconds, then open the lid and press the power button to bring it out of hibernation. What is your screen brightness?
Do the same thing, but instead, click start -> turn off computer, turn off, then wait till it turns off, wait a few more seconds, then boot it up again by pressing the power button, is the screen brightness still 50%?
Note: your P4G mode is most likely still high or super performance.
Let us know what happens after you do these tests. -
I've never used p4g and everything is fine. I like to keep my screen brightness one level and don't like it dynamically changed. Now it seems when i turn it doen, 3rd from the bottom and windows turns off the screen and mouse activity turns it back on, it goes back to full brightness. Hrm...gonna downgrade the bios now.

Update: Flashed back to REV 302 and all the screen brightness, bluetooth/wifi annonyances seem to be gone. DO NOT UPGRADE TO REV 303
Did W7J BIOS rev 303 break screen brightness?
