So, just went to update my BIOS to the last version. I used the built in BIOS updater. It erased, wrote, and verified then it said it was going to shut down. It shut down. I let it sit for about 10 seconds thinking it might actually reboot on its own but it did not. So I hit the power button. All the lights lit up like it usually does but they stayed lit. The screen did not initialize. It just sat in that condition until I held power button down to power off. I pulled battery and power, let it sit for 10 minutes or so then tried again, same result.
Looked up the directions for autoflashing BIOS, set up a flash drive and when I went to power on, this time nothing whatsoever. No lights, no fan, just sits there like it has no power.
I know the battery is full and the charger light is on.
I've flashed a ton of BIOS in my day and never once bricked anything. I have my doubts its been bricked though, shouldn't it still power on if it was just a bad bios, even if it doesn't work? Any thoughts or troubleshooting suggestions?
I am lucky, I bought this thing on 1/29 of last year so I have 5 days of my warranty left but would like to resolve it without sending it in if anyone can think of anything to try but have to file RMA soon if it's not recoverable.
Reason for my doubts, I had been having some problems that started a few days ago so I'm thinking it may have just coincidentally bricked at that point but I really don't know. The whole situation is weird.
Among the problems which started occurring in the past couple days, it seemed to have trouble charging to 100%, it would go to about 93 or so at the usual clip and then slowly creep up to 99 but wouldn't go to 100%
Also seemed to be getting some weird system slowdowns/stuttering at times when the system was not under load that should have led to that.
Did my N53SV just kick the bucket?
