Did a search and didn't find any threads so either my spelling or search method is flawed.

Just wondering why there are two different designations for what looks to me as the same model?

i'm only posting because i don't want to study but this really has been stated everywhere.

s96j is the vbi model ( verified by intel)
    wxga

    z96j asus model
    wsxga+
    built-in bluetooth

    everything else is teh same.

teh s96j even says z96j on the bottom of it because it is the same thing.. just different screen resolution and doesnt' have blue-tooh built in, though i think in teh future we can buy teh bluetooth module and install it.

First off...it's THE not teh...I hate teh.

Some places will use the S96J chassis for the Z96J when the Z96J does have it's own chassis...at least from what I've seen.
