    Hi,

I need official detailed specification for two Asus sub models of the laptop N76VZ so that I can find the difference between the sub-models and determine which one is better - the price difference is huge and the better model is cheaper (which is kind a strange) - this is from two different re sellers.

On the official Asus site there are only tech details for the main model, however I need details for this two specific sub models:
    ASUS N76VZ T1080 and ASUS N76VZ T1040

Only difference that i noticed is the amount of ram(6gb and 8gb) - which varies from re seller(others that i have checked) and the hdd speed which is 7200rpm on the T1080 model and 5400rpm on the T1040

    Any help is appreciated.

Hello my name is Jeffrey and I work for ASUS Customer Loyal Team USA

Usually when the last 3-4 digits at the end of the model number change means that there are different hardware equipped with the laptop.

I have not seen that model number before. What country are you purchasing this from? In the US the only model number we have is N76VZ-DS71 and it's equipped with a 8gb RAM and 1tb at 7200rpm

Hi Jeffrey, i live in Macedonia, and i have seen this models only on Balkan countries web sites - that's South East Europe market
The T1080 is equipped with 6gb of ram and 750 GB 7200 rpm HDD
and the T1040 has 4-8gb(depending on reseller) and 750 GB 5400 rpm HDD
and the reason why I asked for official Asus configuration is cause the T1040 is almost 150 eur more expensive than T1080

Clearly shows that the T1080 is a better buy however you didn't tell me what is the video memory spec. Maybe one has dedicated graphics as the other may have shared graphic.

If you are going to do some gaming then may be better to choose the one with the dedicated memory. Maybe that's why the T1040 may cost more.

that's exactly what i want to find out :) local Asus support wrote to me that only difference are the ones I saw in the catalogs the hdd and the amount of ram, they didn't provided detailed specification even though i requested them. However I still wonder why the price difference is so big.

I recently found this link from a reseller in Serbia:
    Google Translate
It says that T1080 has 2gb dedicated and up to additional 1.5GB shared memory

since you work for Asus, can you get this information even though this laptop is sold only in eastern Europe?
