I noticed Proportable sells the latter. what's the difference between these 2 models? I have another question for users of either models regarding build quality. How much carbon fiber, plastic is used on the exterior and are you satisfied with the build quality?
thanks in advance.

Well,
There isn't a W5v, so this should end the conversation I guess. I'm not sure if you're confusing it with the W3v or something else, but the "v" in the latest Asus models is for dedicated graphics or video... there isn't a W5 model with dedicated graphics.
The W5 is entirely CFP - which is carbon fiber embedded plastic. Just like most all of our other notebooks.
Thanks,
Justin

I did a search on Google, and I got this:

It seems like it's the exact same as the W5A except it has an extra 9 cell battery included? -

First off... they named it wrong, because there isn't an V model. But these systems are sealed and come in one configuration. Asus hasn't brought in an "official" w5 9 cell battery, although we use the S5 and M5 9 cell as they are the same...... someone who didn't sell those probably would know that though.
The W5 comes with a 6 cell and if you want to take their word on it and fight them when it doesn't come with a 9 cell.... that's up to you.
It's my opinion they don't have a clue what they are talking about and it's just a mistake.
Thanks,
Justin

I was just offering something up for discussion.
I agree that they are probably incorrect, as they seem to be the only retailer I could find that's offering the "W5V". Thus it's probably a mistake on their part.
