    Hi all,

    My first post here :)

I just got my G50V-A1 notebook a couple of weeks ago and I recently noticed that the "Perfomance" and "LED Light Functions" of the Direct Console screen will not let me click on them to change the settings. The OLED Panel function works fine, but these other two are disabled (click on them and no highlight or action) for some reason.

I'm thinking it may have something to do with other related systems? Possibly power settings, but really don't know, being new to Asus utilities and Vista64.

I did uninstall Splendid, Norton Antivirus and disabled Media Center but I don't see where these actions would affect Direct Console.

    My Specs:

    G50V-A1
    Vista 64

Thnx in advance for any help with this issue,

    DV

What do you have power4gear set to? I can tell you the functions do work fine out of the box. You are likely right. Some other setting is limiting your ability to select the led functions. There is no hardware sensing, Even if yo remove the lights physically it will still give you the options in direct console to change them

    Good thinking. ;)

I'm set to performance mode. I tried the other three just to see if it changed anything in Direct Console....not.

    Thnx for the thought,

    DV

Hmm recently I found that the light around the touchpad has turned off for me, does anyone know how to turn it back on? Also, I am using the default windows touchpad driver.

If you are having issues with Outlook, it might affect direct console. For some reason Office decided to go south and now direct console won't even start because it wants to access Outlook.
