Is there a version of direct console available for XP for the G50V-x1? If so, would someone be so kind as to give me a link to it? I've been searching for some time now and have not found one.

    Thanks.

Doesn't the same version of Direct Console as for the G50V-A1 or A2 work?

And isn't there a Direct Console install on the Drivers & Utils disk?

I'm just asking, I don't know. But there's a good chance the OLED and the controller are the same between these laptops, in which case the software should work.

Well, the version I get from the Drivers & Utils disk says it's only for posterior versions of Vista. I'll check and see if there is an XP version on those other laptops you mentioned.

Ah, sorry, I missed the "for XP" part. I don't think anyone got DirectConsole working in XP :(

Yeah no console for XP, you can still overclock the cpu via setfsb or clockgen though.

So you mostly only lose oled functions and that will probably be fixed soon too via lcd hype with even more options.

Ok, I have the programs. I noticed mention of a PLL chip. How does that play into using either of those programs? I'm new to overclocking, so please bear with me.

Tells the program what hardware is used to control the systems FSB speeds. It needs the right PLL number to match the hardware with its software settings.

    Ok. Thanks.

So, how do I get the PLL number? Do I have to open up my laptop to find it?
