I can launch DC but it doesn't show me the utility. I've tried compatibility mode, doesn't work. Suggestions?

Do you mean Direct Console or Direct Console 2? There is a difference. I run the latter on Win 7 Ultimate x64 with no problems. Also did you make sure all the ATK stuff from ASUS is installed on the laptop?

Try to reinstall everything. If this doesn't work maybe it not really compatible.

I got my DC working fine on my G50VT-X5, I'm running Win7 Ultimate 64bit.
I dl'ed all the latest ATK drivers from Asus' site and I found a Direct Console 2.0.9 version made for Windows 7 32/64bit installer. It's on Asus' driver page, just do a search for "direct console" and you'll find it.

    I also installed:
    Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 SP1
Since I kept getting this Visual C++ error message.

    32bit
    http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...75-3B97-4AB7-A40D-3802B2AF5FC2&displaylang=en

    64bit
    http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...CA-337F-4B40-8C14-157CFDFFEE4E&displaylang=en

Ok to make it simple, install the ATK drivers first. Get all of them off the Asus site latest version for your model. Install the MS Visual C++ 2008 SP1, there's a 32bit and 64bit installer based on whatever Win7 OS your using.

Then reinstall the Direct Console 2.09 version for Windows 7 32/64bit, do a search on the Asus support driver for "direct cosole" you'll find the link.

It might be called "Direct Message and Direct Flash Utility"

Sorry do a search for "direct" when your on the support download page of Asus' site.

It'll give you a link, when you click on it, it should let you select which OS and you'll be able to select Windows 7 32/64bit which is both the same driver.

Asus finally have released an official Windows 7 drivers for G50VT on their website, unfortunately not that many, I hope they will update soon.

P.S I don't know why are they playing around, but they removed all of those drivers in less than a 30 minutes, here is the proof that they had them there this morning:

Yes, I notice that, and for some reason they keep taking the drivers off and than putting them on, I hope is because they have the idea to add more stuff...

i got mine going, after 3 downloading all updates for win 7 (ultimate)

    still didn't install "express gate"

i seems that win7 recognize some stuff only after update is downloaded from web, also, i tried to install all from this tutorial

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X_w2hIYUSe0

i know what you're going through
to be honest, it took me almost 6 hours to get everything working (2x3)

at first, I tried the upgrade mode, which of course didnt work, (3 hours later I got big, really big ERROR letters on screen and that's when I decided to go for clean install)
