I was wondering if the disassembly of the lcd would be intuitive--just take off the hinges and then snap off the bezel. I would like to swap out the high resolution screen for a glossy 1200 x 800. The laptop has been virtually unused for months. Aren't most lcd's pretty standard. Shouldn't any LG or Samsung fit. Anyone know of a definite model that would fit? If I can't swap the lcd, I will need to sell it. I am not a gamer and the text is just too small. I have increased the dpi, etc.

I don't like the loss of quality when it is not run in its native resolution. Has anyone replaced the lcd on this model?

The procedure is tricky, but can be done if you have ~2-3 hours to spare (especially if it's your first time).

It's a tricky procedure because not only do you have to detach the LCD/lid from the chassis, but you also have to open up the chassis to disconnect the LCD's data cable. If you're careful, it should be too hard. If you ask Justin (ProPortable) nicely, he could give you a brief step-by-step procedure.
