I have an Asus X550ca (8 months old) connected to a Philips 24" HD monitor that comes with its own software smart control lite.
Within that software I have created a profile that I like and saved it as my default but for some reason it doesn't load when I power up the laptop (I have to wait for the display to go an awful beige colour and then select the setting)
To better explain the problem here is my latest email to both ASUS support and Smart Control Lite support neither of whom can solve the problem. I am hoping that someone on here knows for sure what is going on and how to solve it.
Thanks Mike
The situation now at my end is this.
There is some sort of issue on my 8 month old ASUS laptop (of course not your responsibility) whereby if I power it down, when I start it up again the display either on the laptop itself or through my brand new Philips monitor will suddenly dim and the grey colours go an awful beige colour.
This only happens if I power it down. If I put it into sleep mode and then awake it, the previous settings are retained.
Thankfully for me if I manually activate my saved smartcontol lite setting when I first power up the laptop then that setting will hold and I am not subjected to the awful beige colour coming on after a couple of minutes.
As we have discussed however for some reason the smartcontrol lite software will not load up my preferred setting on its own I have to select it.
ASUS have offered to look at my laptop but I dont want to go through the hassle of sending it to them.
So my routine now is to power up the laptop at the start of the day and then select my preferred portrait setting and then as long as I dont switch it off my settings will be retained.
I am just providing you with this extra information in case you have any idea what might be going on with the laptop that is preventing the smartcontrol lite from automatically loading my preferred setting and keeping it. ASUS dont seem to have a clue!
If I remember correctly when I very first installed the smartcontrol about 10 days ago It did seem to load up the setting because I can remember seeing the egg timer on the screen during start up, but it doesnt do it now.
Any further advice / suggestions / drugs to calm my nerves would be appreciated

It's likely an issue with the software to be honest and how it interacts with the registry rather than the machine. What happens if you don't use the software but use the gpus colour settings instead?

Hi Meaker
Thanks for replying to my first post on here
Excuse my ignorance but I don't know what gpus colour settings are please can you enlighten me
Thanks

If you look in the intel graphics options you should have some sliders to play with. -
Hi Meaker
Thanks for posting the screenshot very helpful. I know what you mean now.
Can I just make sure I have understood what you are saying this is what I think you are saying
The issue is likely between the Philips monitor software called smart control lite and my laptops registry
Your suggestion is to not use the Philips monitor software but set up the display using the gpus and see if the laptop will hold it
Have I got that right?
Now I don't want to throw a spanner in the works but I initially thought the problem had only started with the new monitor but after I had thought about it for a while realised that it had been happening on the laptop itself before I got the monitor but to be honest i had just ignored it. Not something I can do now I have experienced the new display settings.
