    I think all notebooks other than 17"+ multimedia notebooks (with integrated subwoofers and stuff) have crappy speakers. Its not just Asus, and its not just the G1.

    The Acer 5920 have a decent speaker's.It's Dolby digital.

    My old HP Pavilion dv1049cl which is 14" has nice speakers (harman/kardon), thats why I bought it originally and having such a hard time finding a replacement.
