My last laptop, which I sold to my dad, was a gateway 600 series (1.6ghz P4, Radeon mobility 7500). It's 5 years old now and didn't start having any serious problems (mostly problems powering up, running insanely slow) until 7 or 8 months ago.

Can I expect to get the same kind of life out of my z81sp? It seems to run quite a bit hotter than my gateway did and I'm hoping to rememdy this by upgrading to one of the Cedar Mill P4s.
