Guys i am debating between the new G50V from Asus and the M8660 from Sager. My main question is, how much better is the 9800 GTS to the new 9800 GS inside the Asus laptop? Thanks if anyone has some benchmarks or 3dmark06 results. Thanks

When you compare the 9600 GT and 9600 GS, the GS is about 24% less performance than GT.

    - Nvidia's naming has little to do with performance.
    - GT not = GTS

That's all I can find, and I hope 9800 GS is not that bad.

Actually, in reply to fusionsenses, the 9600M GS has the same amount of processors/cores as the 9600M GT, just with different clock rates.
So far as I know, high end notebook cards are order in performance somewhere along the lines of:
    (From worst to best)
    9700M GT
    9700M GTS
    9800M GS
    9800M GTS
    9800M GT
    9800M GTX

Since the 9700M GT has 48 processors/cores while the GTS I think has 64, so I would think the GS has either 48, 56 or 64 processors/cores.

Perhaps it would be wise to wait for additional details to arise about the 9800M GS...
