Hey, was browsing through Toshiba section and i seen this thread.
Thought it was interesting so i decided to make one for Asus, to see how many customers like their Asus or dislike their Asus.
** Also make sure you post when you bought it, or what model it is. Also the reason why you choose what you choose.**
**THANKS TO E.B.E. FOR ADDING THE OTHER OPTION**
***All originality and creativity goes to xAMDvsIntelx***

If you don't do this, the results will automatically be biased in favor of positive replies. -
How would i edit to remove one of the poll?
-
-
Interesting, seems like majority of people so far likes their Asus. Wonder how will it play out later when more people vote.
-
The only issue for my N10 is the battery came like poop and it looked like a used notebook on the inside.. customer support was lacking got a new battery in exchange... i grab the batter at the store squeeze it and no wonder the last one was broken... with my hand i dented the new battery >.< worst plastic ever

ASUS isn't the best but it is good.
-
:O Someone has a buyers remorse!? lol.... its not too shabby, seems like Asus is doing great so far.
-
For consumer-class and gaming notebooks, Asus is usually better than the competition. However, their business units do need a little more work. (This of course, is a very general statement)

agree David,
Also there battery life!! Though i must say im seeing HUGE differences now in Asus notebooks battery life, it seems like they got the memo -
My first laptop was an ASUS Z70V. I used that for 3 years (mostly 7/24) and it worked very well. No overheating, no random re-startd or BSOD's etc. That was a very reliable machine.
My second laptop is an ASUS F8Va-C1 (in my sig) and I have been using it for 6 months. Thank God, I haven't had any slightest problem yet...
Well, 2 is not a statistically meaningful number to say "ASUS is perfectly reliable" but so far, I am very happy with them...

can you add this on the Poll
"I' am satisfied for now, but will try a different brand next time"
-
I have an Asus N80VN-GP011C and I used to have a F3SV. They are good systems for the price, but next time around I'll skip the "gaming" video cards in lieu of a better keyboard, better warranty, and overall sturdier system of a Thinkpad or Dell Latitude.

Extremely Satisfied with asus products in terms of price/performance and quality.
-
I guess you can choose "I'm Okay with Asus" -
vinceboiii Animals are friends, not food.
i liked my Asus's but i've moved on now. I just don't like it enough to be loyal and buy another asus everytime i get a new laptop. I just haven't been liking their recent models (the looks) just too much going on for me.
-
Well since I had my first Asus Note book ist about 8 years, and 4 Asus Notebooks later.
Really nice Notebook inc. Hardware, Perf. and "LOOK" .... BUT the Qualiti ist really poor.
3 of 4 Notebooks had tech.problem. -
Why, what was wrong with them? Any specific model?
-

F3JM - Klick-Klack with the HDD and Screenflicker until ASUS repair brocke it completely.
G1 - Problems withe GPU / Network was brocken
G1s - some part of the nb cheeps.... Asus tried to repair it with the mainboardreplacement (g1sn), but it steel cheeping. So i think i'm gonna beat the hell out auf ASUS ^_^
Well since, my G1s ist a littlebit old, i think i'm gonna get a newone from DELL or ASUS... -
Asus repair service broke your F3JM?

I have 3 ASUS notebooks: M6, V6, W7; I have had problems with two of them, some cable problems with M6, the ever-present battery issue of V6. I also had some problems while downgrading to XP for the W7, but that's the fault of lack of support, not the computer's fault.
Despite the problems, I still like them allI am still using my M6 to watch movies (it has a great 15.4 inch matte screen), and I'm using the V6 for 3 years now, on average 10+ hours a day, with no other major issues except the battery. So I will vote #2.
I edited the poll to make it symmetric. -
Thanks for fixing the poll E.B.E.
-
UGHHHHHHHHHHH I cant wait anymore!!!!! I want my F6v infront of me now!!! lol.....
With at least 60% people more than satisfied i really want my Asus! -
Pretty happy with my G50Vt. Only two "issues" is annoying keyboard flex and not so good battery life, but I'm just being picky with the latter.
-
-
All my problems were fixed with a BIOS update haha.
I think the machine is still running great, roughly 9 months old now.
It still runs cool and gathers very little dust. -
You guys are soo lucky that you have your Asus notebook infront of you guys! I just can't wait till i get mines!
-
I love my notebooks for the build quality and performance. The V6va (the screen is one of the best I've ever seen) I've got it second hand but hardly used and both of them has been solid & trustworthy for years.
Undervolting increases my battery life and put my temps very low so no battery issueslike the newer models therefore I will vote #2.
-
i love my asus's more and more everytime i have to deal with another brand.....
my mom has the old style flimsy as heck acer aspire, and its problem, after problem, after problem.
two of my friends have the dv2000's that were so highly rated when new........ both are dieing a slow death. one is basically dead, with us doing everything we can to drag out a few more months, and the ther is completely packed with dust, but you cant clean the freakin fan without taking apart the entire notebook. all in all im very happy with my notebook. -
I don't like ASUS,,but I like my w3j
-
In love with mine. Its my first laptop and Im very satisfied ^_^
-
This turns out better than the Toshiba one i guess...

Still way too early to make that call... plus the Toshiba one wasn't that bad 37% like their Toshiba, 26% love theirs, with 18% for each of 'satisfied' and 'hate it'.
I still haven't voted... there's no love/hate option -
Guess your right, but a longest the "i hate it" doesn't get to 18% than i guess we can say majority of people like their Asus. Also the fact that the majority of consumers seems satisfy with Asus compared to Toshiba so far.
Than again, you are right. This poll still has too little votes in it to consider it for majority opinion. -

I've bought ASUS for my last 4 laptops... W7J, G1S, G50V, N10J, and I've had problems with each of them except for the N10J. I would seem to love ASUS but I still hate them. It's complicated, and I don't think I should vote. But so far the numbers are low for the don't like/hate options on the poll. It'll be interesting to see in another month or so how it balances then.
-
YESSs my notebook is getting closer too me
))) just a few more days and my Asus will be with me!!!!!! lol.....
Was wondering if i should get a external wireless mouse for my F6v...... Logitech VX Nano? Any others? Wiress/wired i dont care. -
So far I am loving my Asus G50Vt-x1 I got at Best Buy. I have read about some not thinking the best buy unit was a "Real" Asus because of the "weak" screen. IMHO I LOVE this screen it is one of the best laptop screens I have seen. Now I am also getting a little older and the eyes are not what they once were. But I have had 2 Sagers 3 Dells and seen sceen resolutions up to 1900X1200. This Screen does not have as good a vertical viewing angle as some of the others but for how I use it it is one of the best if not the best.
When I compare it to my Dell Inspiron 9300 which has a 1900X1200 17" screen the Asus is MUCH better IMHO.
The build quality is awsome and I love having a full (num pad) keyboard. So far I have had none of the issues others have repoted such as keyboard lag.
The battery life in battery saver mode is quite good for a laptop with this much power.
Of course it rocks for gaming which is the main reason I bought it.
All in all I am loving it so far!! -
Well...I've got my G1S for almost an year...the only problem I had with it is the overheating GPU, which I managed to fix by adding an additional fan below the GPU. I've had couple of BSOD, mostly my fault as software/hardware developer. I'm also developing DirectX (3D) applications, so this laptop suits me perfect, it's was the best in it's price range back then and still beats most of the laptops I've seen. I'm planning on buying Asus again, probably a G50...or let's see what good models will follow
-
BUMP!
Stay alive! -
mine has served me well, but i am going to get rid of it because i do not travel around with it anymore.
Asus M50 -
I love my Asus G1s. First laptop i ever owned and can't imagine buying another brand. Waiting for the Beast that is coming out soon -- the one Red Dragon told me about,, the W90, i think it's called ? ;-) oh yea!!
-
i own an ASUS G1.
Got it around Feb in 2007.
currently running Windows 7.
at the time i bought it, it was pretty much the only decent gaming notebook for a reasonable price.
and while i would probably purchase a new one if i had the money, i still use it everyday and take it to the occasional LAN.
The bag and Mouse that came with it were not bad (mouse is good)
my ONLY problem is that the motherboard won't detect 4GB of RAMbut 3GB is still pretty good
-
F3F - headphone port stopped working after 6 months.
F3Jm - Optical port problem, screen (horiztonal lines and dead pixels), HDD, DVD drive stopped burning cd's.
Not very impressed with asus and wouldn't buy again. I also bought a 14" that was DOA right out of the box. Next time i'm going Lenovo or something better. -
G50vt-x1
Very happy with it, but not without flaws. (keyboard delay issue) -
i am still loving my N10JC. it is small, light, easy to use, keyboard size and layout is just right for the size and i am still getting 5++ hours battery life

N80vn-x1 is doing fine. -
I just love my Asus!
I just sold my dad on an Eee and my cousins GF just bought a 15" Asus!
Both love them.
Only a few things I would like to see changed.
Battery life improvement
Some better style.
Of course I bought it with the understanding that it does not last that long, but I am willing to give up some time away from the plug to get specs that most others charge way more for!!!
Do you like your Asus?
