    Do you think Asus knows that if they would like to sell some laptop, they should be available in multiple places ?

    Geez, Asus products are good but so hard to find !!

    Someone know where we could by a N61Vn-A2 or A1 in Canada ?

    I mean, they don't have any in stock !

    And ETA is always someting like;

    "should be available in 10-15 days ...or maybe later !"

    ... I don't wanna dream about a laptop, I would like to see it infront of me ;o)

    :rolleyes:

    Well, here's how they work.

    ASUS Taiwan designs the notebook, sends out memo in regards to it to all regional ASUS branch, for the US, its the one in Fremont, California, for Canada, I believe it used to be the one in Fremont but is now in Richmond Hill or Markham, Ontario.

    ASUS <Enter Region here> decides on the specifications of the notebooks they want based on market research and places the order based on projection.

    ASUS Taiwan manufactures the notebooks based on what the regional offices ask for, ship it to them

    Regional ASUS HQ receives units, then sells them to the distributors(Such as ASI, SuperCom, etc.)

    ASUS dealers order quanitity(or special orders them, aka. ordering them when the customer does, and 'drop ship' it to the customer) them from these distributors.

    So pretty much it depends on the dealer/retailer. If they choose to stock the unit, then they always have it in stock. If they don't, they will need to inquire on the stock at the distributors, if they do have it in stock, its usually express shipped to them, to resell. If they don't, then the dealer will need to wait til the next shipment.

    Not directly ASUS's fault, but their system isn't necessarily the best, considering there are two 'middle men' :p
