If your refering to the service and support in North America, you will find that it is excellent. Most people here can attest to that.
However if your located and asking about the European side, I have heard otherwise.

I have a W5a, and I had a problem with the camera not working about 3 weeks after purchase. A short time later, I had a problem with the buttons around the LCD not working. When I called tech support, both times I was advised to reinstall windows from the hidden partition. Each of these problems had a relatively simple solution, for which I found the answer via Google.

I have not called about anything else, but given this, it seems as though the standard answer to a software problem is to reinstall windows. Sure, that would work, but it is overkill.

It is a well known fact that if your experience software problems, any support from any brand wouldn't really want to deal with it because it is an user induced issue, and there could be many reasons why.

Unless some companies have warranty that also covers software related problems as well.

Generally if your dealing with true hardware problem the ASUS service centers do a great job.

If you do have software or don't know what kind of problem your having, coming to forums and asking, or googling things helps a lot.

Even when the problems are with Asus software? First problem I had came after downloading an update from the Asus website. Admittedly, the second problem was 'user induced' - I had disabled a service needed for those buttons.

I'm not saying the customer service is bad; simply relating my experience, which was the OP's request :)
