I've heard from a friend that some Asus Laptops have keyboard lag. Is this true, and under what conditions?

On the G73JH it's been reported that if you removed the Touchpad drivers, the lag goes away. However, I have the Touchpad drivers installed and don't notice any lag.

No lag here. Odd behaviour because I keep touching the touchpad with the bottom right hand part of my left hand (it's a HUGE touchpad) and that disables typing. But, I like a super sensitive touchpad ... so ... whatever. (Easy to fix: turn down sensitivity, and it doesn't happen anymore)

I think I have been experiencing it with my new G73. I haven't done my clean windows install yet though, so I will reserve judgment until I have done that. Typing this, I have had to go back and make 3 corrections.

My touch pad is disabled when I use my external mouse. Which is always.

G51VX, no LAG. Touchpad is defective, specifically the left click button so I've disabled that button in the synaptics driver.

G50V on the other hand, well as far as I know the G50V did suffer from keyboard lag but it was fixable by installing the KBFilter driver. So I guess we can say the G50V had no lag either :p

209 Beta BIOS is out and addresses the keyboard lag, at least the techs say so. ;)

Wait is the keyboard lag from just normal typing, like on Word? Or during some video game chat?

The keyboard lag affects typing mostly, ie in word, on the forum, etc. It's less noticeable during gaming since most games requires users to press and hold keys.

I can attest that the M50 SV using Vista has keyboard lag issues. At least it happened to me. No amount of reformatting did any good. Did not happen again when I installed Win7.

Ok, reinstalled the OS on my new G73, and was still getting the lag, so I uninstalled the touchpad driver, and the lag is gone... but now I need to find an alternative way to get some capabilities I was actually using.
