    Does Eeectl work on 1008HA and/or 1101HA?

I've read the display on the 1008Ha is only 136 cd/m² bright. Totally not suited for outside use. Unless the Eeectl tool would work to crank up the brightness.

Does anyone know if it will work on 1008 and/or 1101?

Yes, I can confirm that Eeectl can up the brightness on the 1008HA :)

I just downloaded it and tried it out on my 1008HA. There are 5 options to choose from (lowest, low, medium, bright, ultra bright). Selecting "medium" actually lowers the screen brightness a bit. "bright" brightens it very slightly, and in "ultra bright", the difference is very obvious.

Have you tried working outside with ultra bright?

I'm currnetly typing this out on my balcony with some shade. It's still viewable, but i can still clearly see my reflection even with eeectl set on ultra bright. I would assume it would be worse under direct sunlight.

Here's a video i just made showing the ultra bright setting on the 1008HA. (picture comparison doesn't show quite well)

    Thanks a lot for that.

My next netbook may be the 1101HA. I hope the Eeectl tool will work the same.

What is Eeectl, exactly? Where do you get it? How does it work?

And most importantly, can it damage anything?

    Thanks.

If you search on Google it will answer three of your questions ;)

    I don't know the fourth.

Can using Eeectl damage your netbook in any way?

Like any type of overclocking utility, Eeectl can potentially damage your netbook's hardware. However, if you only plan to use its backlight feature to increase the brightness of your screen, it shouldn't cause any issues.

So the answer seems to be: no it does not work on 1101HA.

It does work on 1008HA and 1005HA.
