    Does F3JR ATI Radeon X2300 support ARB_Multitexture?

Tryin to play a game, and all i get is:

?ERROR: Vulpine(R) Vision(TM) requires support for the ARB_multitexture extension!
Please make sure you have the latest video drivers installed for your 3D card.

I have the latest 8.33 drivers for my card...

Get the Realtech VR OpenGL extensions viewer here and see if the extension is present in your driver.

Well i found that my GPU supports:
    opel gl 1.1
    open gl 1.2 (20%)

open gl 1.3 is the one with Multitexture

wayyyyy out of my depth with this one

Just try what is instructed in the link I posted, overwrite your OpenGL DLL with the 7.12 one (backup first)

    Hey,

How old is this 'game' you're trying to run? ARB_Multitexture is a really, REALLY OLD OpenGL extension - we're talking nearly 10 years now, back when 3DFX Voodoo 2 and ATI Rage 128 was still in vogue. If you have no idea what I'm talking about...

In actuality, you'll probably want to use the oldest drivers available. Ever. And the oldest video card you can find... I don't know which video card last supported ARB_Multitexture... it's possible there is a card that exists today but I wouldn't know. You aren't likely to be able to play this game on this machine unless you can code your own driver...

You may get some more helpful tips over at Beyond3D.com... they have much more technical expertise to get something like this going, if you think it's worth it.

My FireGL V5200 supports it just fine, as do most cards. And you don't need the oldest driver per se, just try 7.12

Indeed, you are correct. Sorry about that. I jumped the gun...

    I think I was thinking about SGIS_multitexture.

It sounds like his drivers weren't installed correctly...

The game is like 1999, just about when 3d graphics hit.

    That link is too 8.3?

    I'll google 7.12 :)

Forgot to mention... I'm on Vista 32Bit

    ****UPDATE*****

I installed 8.3 and noticed the core MHZ had gone from

    Core: 150 to 480mhz
    Mem: 150 to 400mhz

    Is that normal?

Perhaps the GPU was in a low power profile, and the new driver doesn't support power profiles (which would not be very good).
