Does the current a8js laptops support the incoming SATA 3.0 Gb/s?
    And fully utilize 3.0Gb/s?

If they are using the same 120GB Seagate hard disk as the V1J (ST9120822AS), it's a SATA 1.5Gb/s (ATA/150) drive.

Since it's using an Intel 945 mobile chipset with an ICH7-M, the answer is probably going to be "no". See http://www.intel.com/design/chipsets/datashts/307013.htm on page 186 (3Gb/s Transfer Rate: Supported (desktop only)).

At least the drive supports NCQ. I wouldn't worry about the "lost" bandwidth, it's not like a laptop drive will come close to maxxing out SATA/150 anyway...

If you mean buying an ExpressCard eSATA card, then yeah, chances are it'll be full SATA-II and that it'll work 3.0 Gb/s. Looking at the one made by SIIG, actually. But otherwise, the mobile version of the 945+ICH7-M chipset doesn't seem to support 3.0 Gb/s.

SATA 1 or 2 is irrelevant... both are much faster than the maximum sustained transfer speeds you're going to see from any single drive.
