Does anyone else have a problem with the Z33's "half" shift button and arrows?

    I love my Z33 12'1 Asus...but I would really like to sell it to get a 14" with a 4:3 and a large keyboard.

This computer is great....I have never rebooted it, it is fast...but I can't get over the keyboard.....has anyone else expreienced it?

I know I will lose money but the Z61 may be the way to go if it ever comes out....

    Any suggestions?

    Thank you

    Elliot

It's a tiny computer and the keyboard was already redesigned because people didn't like the smaller spacebar or the smaller number buttons. Supposedly they have people who research this stuff and decide that if any button has to be smaller (after people complained about the other way) then it should be the shift key. Studies to show that must people use the 1/3 of the button closest to the center of the keyboard on both shift keys and the middle 1/3 of the spacebar..... so technically if they keep a button under that area, you shouldn't miss it............ however, obviously everyone isn't the same.

    *EDIT*

A Z63a would be perfect for you......... same height screen, another inch and a half to the right........ which also gives you a bigger keyboard.

I heard there was going to be a Z61 that was a 4:3 screen in stead of the Z63 widescreen....is that true?

What is the best way to get rid of a computer that has been used for only a week and has 3 batteries and a load of software?

    Thank you

There is and it's been out since the begining of the month: http://www.proportable.com/detail.aspx?ID=139

The Z61 is a refresh of the older M3 series....... it differs from the Z63a basically by having a 4:3 ratio with a matte type display.... instead of the 16:10 with a glaretype display............. The Z61a though has a short spacebar......... you might not like that.

Sell it to a friend for a good price, or try to test your luck with ebay.

    Thanks for answering......

4:3 is great and the larger size is fine and a half space bar works for me.

I really do not care for widescreen or Glare type.....so that is why the Z63 is out!!!!

    Thank you

Well... I might have made it sound worse than it is......... On the Z63 the spacebar touches about 1/4 of the X button and goes across the C,V,B,N,M keys and then about a 1/4 of the "," button. The Z61 touches about 1/4 of the C button and goes across the V,B,N,M buttons. If you compare that to your Z33, you'll get an idea of the difference........... The shift keys are full on the Z61a and the Z63a has a full one on the left and about a 5/8's sized one on the right.
