I've been google-ing it for a while and I could not find it...
Does anyone have the service manual for w7j, or know where I can find a copy?
I don't know how long I can wait for a Merom w7j and I really want to know how difficult it is to replace the CPU in a w7j.
My plan is to buy a DELL XPS M1210 or ASUS W7J--whichever comes out with a Merom first. But w7j has better build quality so I really want a w7j w/ merom
Proportable just said in another thread that the plan for 'end of august merom w3j/w7j' is off and an estimate is October. I really do not want to wait that long ...![]()

You're not going to find a guide that's going to walk you through this, but in that other thread, you should have seen a picture I took and posted and that's really all you need...... it should be enough to get you to the cpu and you just start removing screws. But, look at this way..... you're deciding between an Asus and a dell.... which ever comes out with merom models first is what you're going to buy... not exactly the best way to pick, in fact, it's actually sort of doesn't make any sense, no matter how it's justified. Even if you didn't get a merom cpu, I can't see anyone seeing actual 64bit use within the next 18-24 months, so just going picking up the first one isn't exactly going to get you anywhere. But at the same time I wouldn't suggest buying one now and swapping the cpu a month down the road... that'll void your warranty and what are you going to do with the other cpu?
