    Does anyone know why there are no 17" Ryzen 7 RTX Laptops available?

    I am looking to by a new laptop and want the latest CPU and GPU but I don't think ASUS makes a Ryzen 7 laptop with an RTX GPU. Did I miss something? I also want a 17 inch display. I can find various combos but not all of the above. I have heard that the currently available Ryzen 7 CPUs in laptops are not yet Zen 2 but they are rumored to be coming, anyone have any news on that?

    CES 2020 is in 7 days, perhaps we will see some new models for Ryzen CPU's / APU's announced?

    So AMD has made it's announcements and there are already ASUS laptops announced with 4800 series CPU with RTX 2060 but only 14 and 15", the 17" comes with the GTX 1660. Again why no 17" RTX options???

    For some reason many buyers focus on form over function. And, that's why sellers make the laptops they make. Slim, thin, light, small are all the rage, so 12", 13", 14", 15" laptops predominate.

    In the past it was due to cost, 17" / 18" laptops for the most part had all the high end parts stuffed in them and were cost prohibitive for most people to afford, so those large screen laptops got a reputation for being too expensive, and so now people have been trained to ignore them right off.

    Now there are affordable 17" laptops, at least not as expensive as the most expensive models, but still the small screen laptops have that cache of being more affordable so that's where most people focus their search for a laptop.

    Hopefully there will be 17" models following soon after the smaller screen models, but AMD and vendors using their CPU's / GPU's will focus out of need to sell the most units in the mid-range screen sku's.

    I prefer 17" / 18" laptops too, but I may get what's available in the first wave even if there aren't 17" models, I can always plug it into an external large screen monitor when I am not mobile.

    I only use my laptop twice a year when travelling or maybe for an emergency replacement of my main PC as I work at home on it. I want to be sure to get something I will be happy with for a LONG time as my current 19" Toshiba has served me very long but cannot play modern games at all or run my work VM.

    Yup, I miss the larger screen laptops too. I preferred the 18.4" models when they were out, but now I'm happy there are at least some 17.3" models.

    If I see a 17" AMD 4000 or 4000 + 5x00M laptop I'll try to remember to post it here. I also post AMD Ryzen / Radeon material here:

    Take note that in their webpage beginning as well as the disassembly clips above clearly shows their set comes with 48whr battery, but in the battery test result chart of their webpage, the "test model" listed there comes with 90whr battery. Is it a typo error, there's a need for verification.​
