Does the 1215b have the same problems as the 1215n, trackpad issues and breaking power pin?

Looking at the 1215b and have read the problems concerning the 1215n. Would not want to have a malfunctioning trackpad or the breaking power pin. Walked into the local authorized ASUS service center to see if they carried the 1215b (they don't) and asked if the broken power pin would be covered under warrantee and they said NO. The Eee does not have accidental warrantee coverage and that would be considered broken by the owner, not a manufacturing defect.

I really like the screen's 12" size and the look, and the fact that ASUS has been rated at the top for reliability. But does that include the netbook lines too, or just regular laptops?

I have the 1215n and other than the internal parts the case, look, trackpad etc is the same style on the 1215b.

The Trackpad and power pin issues that you have read about reflect a minority of people... people that post on forums do so because they have a problem... so the silent majority experience no issues.

I personally havn't had any issues at all and have even ran over the power pin in a chair and it remained solid... like any device sometimes they make duds but these issues arent widespread.

    Hope that helps
