    Hi all,

I have a general question for asus laptop users that use their HDMI port. Does it carry audio on it as well??
I have V2s on order but i just like to know if asus HDMI supports audio.

    Thanks in advance

I do not think that any laptop with HDMI out supports sound, but I could be wrong...

I think some people did manage to get it working on the G1S, after much toil and sorrow :D

The threads should be around here, somewhere...

I use it with my G1S. No effort whatsoever was necessary for it to carry sound and video to my LG lcd TV. Just plug and play.

Sometimes my speakers don't work after I put my laptop to hibernate.... so once I accidentally turned on my hdmi and I actually heard volume on my v2s-a1.

maybe people are forgetting to change the output sound from the speakers to the digital output in the windows control panel. Is the only thing I need to change to put sound through the hdmi port.

Same here - sound out over HDMI works perfectly for my G1S - just gotta make sure you do as described above.

Just for reference you can also get digital sound through the spdif port, by using a toslink cable you get optical out through the spdif.
Might be useful for anyone who has a seperate amplifier without hdmi.
