Very simple question to users or storekeepers. Does the s5 fit in its included sleeve from Asus with a 9-cell battery on? If not, would the 6 cell work? Thank you very much.

I am into art and designing things so I will make a very small mobile notebook bag with the Asus sleeve as an inner lining. If the 9 or 6 cell battery doesn't fit, I'll need to amend the design in my head

No, it does not. It's made to perfectly fit the unit with the 3 cell.... the 9 is a little too big to close the flap.

Thank you for that. Do you or anyone know if it would fit with the 6-cell?

(While I hear that 6 cell is not for N America, some retailers do carry it)

It's possible to make it fit, but just barely.... I can put a 6 cell W5 battery on an S5 and do just that...

No one in north america has 6 cell S5/M5 batteries...... Asus never imported. With that said, the W5 6 cells physically work, but they don't have the pin striping you'll have on the S5 battery..... and if you go white, the W5 battery is all white, where as the S5 is silver with those pin stripes.

W5A does not fit into its own sleeve with 6 cell battery.

It fits barely but the sleeve does not close properly.

I think it'd be the same with S5.

You would be better off to try other sleeves. Like Sumdex or something.

The M5 does fit OK with the 6-cell. It sort of stretches the sleeve a little, but after you've used it for a few times, it's fine. And it you can close it properly too. I'm not sure what I'm going to do when I buy a 9-cell, though. Maybe I can mae a new type of closing or move the magnetic button or something... I don't know if it'll stretch that much further!
