This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved.     Does the entire U series come without an optical drive?

    I was looking at the U line since it looked pretty nice for my sister, but noticed that one didn't come with an optical drive. And I looked at a couple more, but the specs didn't say whether or not they came with one.

    If there are a couple of models with an optical drive, what model number are they?

    The 14" models have optical units. U4xxx.

    The 13" versions are the only models within the U series that don't have the optical drive.

    u30sd has an optical drive... oddly enough, it's not listed on Amazon anymore...
