Hi guys, I have a zenbook prime ux31a

typically when the laptop is asleep and I open the lid it wakes up and takes me to log in screen.

However since last week, it no longer wakes upon opening the lid - I have to press the power button. In the power settings there is option for sleep when closing lid, although I couldn't find any settings to wake when opening lid.

However, the laptop does go to sleep fine when I close the lid.

I'm wondering if something is wrong with my laptop? Do you know any ways to fix this?

    Thanks

Perhaps it's not detecting when contact is no longer being made with the magnet? That or a possible bug. You can try resetting your power options, and then see if it wakes. If so, then you can make your necessary custom adjustments to the power plan and see if it will continue to wake on opening the lid.

Set the laptop to sleep when you close the lid, when do that, does it? If it does the magnet detection is working fine.

Maybe you want to check to see if Wake On Lid is enable in the BIOS:

thanks a lot guys, it turned out to be nothing major; just a software glitch.

    a simple restart fixed it
