Even though so much of the reviews i see are positive about the 1201N, there are those that say "this notebook is pointless to buy". I've read a lot of folks saying since its spec border on netbook & notebook, they cannot see any reason to purchase it-

Here are a few of mine, feel free to add any of your own-

    1. 12" inch perfect sized screen (only available in much higher-priced laptops)
    2. Bluetooth included (only available in much higher-priced laptops)
    3. Asus Excellent Customer Support (rarely available in ANY much higher-priced laptops)
    4. I know i'm an island of one, but i actually really LOVE a lot of their "Bloatware Programs" Some are too cool!
    5. (Should've listed this FIRST) 1366x768 LED Display- (Rare find in a netbook - If you've ever stood next to a duller, lower resolution netbook in the store and compared it to a higher priced laptop, y'all know what i mean) - eeessssshhh!
    6. Might not be the best One Touch Web access that's ever been developed, but you can't beat it - when you are in a hurry and u need quick info, do you really care if the fonts or formatting isn't perfect?
    7. Those who say they cannot see the point of this, work on a netbook with 1GB ram for a little while and THEN tell me you didn't wish there was a netbook you could have with 3GB Ram on it
    8. Ion (Will let THAT one speak for itself :)
    9. 500 GB free online storage for One Year. That is awesome.. Have you priced Carbonite or some of the others? Talk about expensive. They nickel & dime you for every MB. Totally Ridiculous....
    10. 5 hours of battery life may not be GREAT, but some bare bones laptops out there are STILL only offering 2 hr 30 min runtime selling for the price of this one.

i'll stop at 10 because i haven't even received mine yet...lol BUT i have read every word ever written so i feel as if i have owned it a year already!

Oh and the most important reason i should have put FIRST- It is the ONLY Netbook (that i have found) that comes with full version Home Premium, and NOT Win 7 Starter pkg. Have you read the complaints on that alone? Can't even change your wallpaper AND no more than 6 applications opened at once. Thats just wrong. Within a few days of using that crappy version ppl would surely be willing to dish out the add'l 100+ right off the bat to upgrade so if you add THAT in with the price, this is by NO MEANS an "overpriced netbook!

No i have to agree, you cant just go off what others say, because at the end of the day, you could have the cwappest machine out there, and still like it, and find its completely usable for what you want.

I love my 1201N. It's nothing short of perfect for what I need it to do.

buyer's remorse? um, isn't that when you "regret" a purchase? No regrets here, i'm happy if it performs 1/2 as good as some of the reviews i've read (and i think it will, since the most graphics intensive game i'll be playing is "free cell" :) And mind you, if you notice, i hardly touched on the actual specs of this computer in my list, which if any of all that i'm reading is true, makes this a very, "lean, mean, netbook machine" :)

    i also just picked up a 1201n

i love this little machine alot.
have been using the N10J for over a year
which i used it for movie playback( on my 1080p tv using hdmi)
playing games when i am away from home. ( i pretty much finished fallout 3 using N10J)
    and now with this 1201n
even in graphic area is not as good as the N10J which come with a 9300mGS
    (2ghz N10J get 2000 in 3dmark06)
    (while 2ghz 1201n(n330) only give me 1850)
but the 1201n is a way balance system then the N10J,
Now i can really enjoy L4D, and game like COD4( which i could play on N10J but just of too slow.

    the 1201n is 499 us
    find me another laptop/notebook/netbook
which is around 500 dollars and can run games as good as 1201n
and plz don;'t forget 11-13" screen and around 3-3.5lb

find me one, then i may think about saying i regret getting 1201n
