Hi everyone,
I've been having serious issues with wireless network connectivity, ESPECIALLY at home. My university network wasn't as bad, though latency was a problem, but at home with my USR 8054 router, I kept losing connections and/or dropping and reassociating my IP. It was driving me crazy for the lost month! I bought a new USR 8054 router (this driver would even crash my old router!!), I moved the router, nothing would change it. Then I read on the release notes for intels latest 9.0.1.0 that they addressed issues with disconnects on channels 1 - 3. WELL THIS ISN'T TRUE. No matter what channel I chose it'll crash the router or have network disconnects. So I reverted back to the 8.1.1.0 drivers and all my problems are over!!! I have perfect network connection, my router is reliable without disconnecting, and latency is back to it's usual quick self!
So I highly suggest you don't change from 8.1.1.0! It's a good driver (and at all costs don't use 9.0.1.0 or report it to intel). If you are using the latest drivers (currently 9.0.1.0) and you're having problems, you know why.
