I am getting ready to purchase a laptop and I was curious of the differences between the following two models. F3JP and Z96Js. I am using them for games and even though I have a laptop that is a year old it has a matte screen. I was wondering if these are pretty much identical or if there are noticable differences. thanks for the help. :)

For gaming, I think the F3jp has the better dedicated graphics card. That's something to think about, considering both are the same size (screen-wise).

The F3Jp is also an Ensemble computer, whereas the Z96J is a customizable one... which means the F3Jp will have Global warranty. Not a deal breaker, but something to consider.

The F3JP has a DVI port which may be usefull for your needs aswell.

The biggest difference is the fact that the Z96j is customizable to any specs you want, but the F3JP does come with good specs in which you upgrade later, or simply add more ram and a new HD immediately.

As for going from matte screens to glossy, in my opinion it will be a great switch since everything will appear more vibrant.

In terms of reflections, one of the worst positions i have been in is when my laptop faces the window and with medium to high amount of sun hitting the screen. It becomes dark, meaning you will have to turn the screen to max brightness.

In terms of excessive amount of overhead lighting, it's not a big deal, I just tilt my screen forward or backward enought to reduce reflections. There will be reflections under most lighting conditions but you won't notice them.
