I apologize ahead of time if this has been addressed, but I wish to capitalize on this current ASUS W3V promotion (the $200 rebate). However, you must fill out that form at http://usa.asus.com/mobilemag/. The form asks for the laptop serial number. But if I buy the laptop right now, it will be a week before I receive it and can check the serial. I'm assuming from previous experience that as soon as August 1 hits, the promotion page will go offline, and thus remove my chance to fill out that form. Incomplete forms will not be processed. So is this a proverbial catch-22? I can't fill out and submit the rebate form without the computer, but I won't have access to the rebate form once I get the computer. I hope I'm wrong somehow.

Also, which retailer is the way to go? I'm looking at:

    Actbuy
    Agear
    Proportable

All 3 have strong ratings, but ActBuy is selling it for $50 cheaper than Agear and Proportable.

    Thanks in advance.

All resellers are good, if you want, go to RR to check on it.

Justin from ProPortable and Eddie from Geared2Play frequent these forums, so you can get support easily from there. It's your decision really.

And about the coupon, I'm not sure, but it should be based on the date you bought it, as they should as for a invoice/receipt from your reseller, and there it should state the pruchase date.

In the fine print, it says that to qualify for the rebate you must have a purchase date within the range of when the rebate was active. You must have the rebate post marked 30 days from the purchase date too!

zipzoomfly.com has it right now for 1699 plus the rebate...

The problem with Asus assembled laptop, all dealers are pretty much required to sell it as a certain price. Or else they lose their deal with Asus.

The 1699 is after the rebate, or at least that's what the site says now.
